Established in 1987, Walker's Point Center for the Arts is a neighborhood-based arts organization that supports visual and performing arts and learning in a multicultural environment. The center fosters creativity in children through innovative education and encourages audience development and artistic talent with a diverse blend of programming. Presenting varied, innovative works by international, national and local artists, WPCA strives to cater to the diverse constituency of its neighborhood and the city of Milwaukee.
Programming:
WPCA holds three annual shows: Día de los Muertos exhibition, young people’s exhibition and its members’ show. Some of the recent exhibitions also included: the warmly received juried regional exhibition of the Coalition of the Photographic Arts (CoPA), the exhibition of emerging Milwaukee-based Latino artists, Paper Politics, a show of socially engaged printmaking curated by Josh MacPhee, as well as the solo and group presentations of the works by many other international, national and local artists.
