Walker’s Point Center for the Arts (WPCA), founded in 1987, is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting visual and performing arts and learning in a multicultural environment. The Center fosters creativity in children through innovative education and encourages audience development and artistic talent with a diverse blend of programming.
Over the last 17 years, WPCA has presented over a vast array of artistically significant experimental visual and performing arts projects, has supported the work of local as well as national and international emerging artists, and has successfully involved the local community in these artistic pursuits. Throughout its history, WPCA has offered a consistent, positive presence in this economically depressed neighborhood by mounting 6-8 gallery shows and 8-10 performances annually.
Free admission to the galleries and children’s art programs makes art accessible to all regardless of means.
