March 11- April 30, 2005
Heart Shaped World and Other New Work by Lisa Marie Barber
Gallery Night:Open April 15 for Spring Gallery Night from 5-8 p.m.
This exhibition will feature Heart Shaped World, a sculptural
"environment" constructed by UW-Parkside Professor Lisa Marie Barber.
Three recent graduates of the UW-Parkside program will also participate
in the exhibition with selections of their recent work. Joshua Brennan,
Amy Sorenson, and Anthony Weber each utilize a distinctive and energetic
drawing technique to produce imaginative and edgy works of art that will
play off of Ms. Barber's featured installation and wall-hung quilts.

Walker's Point Center for the Arts Member's Show
Opening Reception: May 13 from 5-7 pm
One of our most exciting exhibitions every year, this salon-style show
provides a unique opportunity for artists at different points in their
careers, working in a wide range of media and styles to exhibit
together, showing the depth and breadth of contemporary art making in
Wisconsin. This exhibition is a great opportunity to exhibit your work
and a great way to support Walker's Point Center for the Arts.

DIABOLIQUE:
Images of the Devil in Contemporary Art

Opening Reception: July 8 from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Open July 29 for Summer Gallery Night from 5-9 p.m.
Lucifer, Satan, demon, fallen angel . . . nowhere in the Old or New
Testament does there appear a full account of the creature commonly
known as "the devil." This original and innovative exhibition,
co-curated by notable Milwaukee painter Fred Stonehouse and WPCA's
Jessica St. John, will explore the various personal interpretations of
"the devil" as featured in works by Fred Stonehouse, Manual Ocampo,
Enrique Chigoya, Ed Hardee, the Clayton Brothers, Tony Stonehouse, and
more.

October 21-November 26, 2005
El Dia de Los Muertos
Opening Reception: Gallery Night October 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.)
This annual exhibition and celebration recognizes death as a celebration
of life and provides an opportunity for families and artists from the
community to construct offrendas, or altars, to honor the dead. The
offrendas range from traditional styles reflecting time-honored
iconography to more contemporary settings indicative of the changes in
the culture of remembrance. Curated with the guidance of community
leader Rosa Zamora.

December 2-December 31, 2005
Faces of Walker's Point: Elizabeth Flores & the Students of Walker's
Point Center for the Arts

Opening Reception: December 3 from 5-6:30 p.m.
Building off of the common threads of personal and communal identity,
landscape and the idea of "home," this exhibition will feature the work
of photographer Elizabeth Flores and the students of Walker's Point
Center for the Arts' Hands On Art Education Program. This unique project
will feature works completed during an artist-in-residence program where
these themes will be explored and expanded through the use of photography.
